Emergency Procedures & Policy

Sick Children:

Parents must ensure their child is well enough to participate in daily activities before bringing them to the center. Staff will conduct visual health assessments upon arrival and throughout the day. A Potential Illness Report Form will be completed and signed by parents if symptoms arise.

Symptoms requiring immediate Pickup:

  • Fever of 38C (100.4F) or higher;
  • Vomiting or diarrhea (two episodes in a day);
  • Rash, persistent cough, or communicable disease symptoms;
  • Inability to participate in daily activities

Sick children will be isolated and supervised until they are picked up. Parents must collect their child within one hour of notification. Children can return only after being symptom-free for 24 hours or with a doctor’s note.

Medication Administration:

  • Only prescribed medication in original containers with clear instructions will be administered.
  • Parents must complete and sign a Medication Administration Form.
  • Emergency medications (e.g., EpiPens, inhalers) will be stored securely but accessible.
  • Staff will monitor children for potential reactions and document each administration.

Inability to participate in daily activities

Immunization: Children must have up-to-date immunizations before enrollment. A copy of their immunization record is required.

Allergies: Parents must inform the daycare of any allergies during registration. Allergy lists will be posted in appropriate areas for staff awareness.

Hygiene Practices: Our staff follows strict hygiene protocols, including:

  • Regular handwashing and sanitization of toys and surfaces
  • Proper food handling procedures
  • Daily cleaning and disinfecting of rooms and diaper-changing areas
  • Safe disposal of soiled items

Parent Responsibilities: Parents must ensure their child’s belongings do not contain hazardous items such as:

  • Medications, chemicals, and sharp objects
  • Mobile phones or plastic bags
  • Any other potentially dangerous
